Nick Halverson
Principal
Up North Property Management is overseen and managed by Nick Halverson.
Nick has over 15 years of experience managing vacation rental homes – long before it was “trendy.” He brings his experience in building up Osa Property Management into a leader in the southern pacific region of Costa Rica back to his Minnesota roots. The same world-class hospitality and property management services that have been fine tuned in the harsh weather and the jungles of Costa Rica are now available to vacation rental owners in Minnesota.
Nick has been a panelist at several Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA) International Conferences and Leadership Conferences, as well as a panelist at the IMN Short-term Rental Conference in Austin, Texas.
Nick was born in Iowa and raised in the northern suburbs of Saint Paul and is an avid traveler and loves the lakes and outdoors that Minnesota provides. After graduating from Cornell University (Ithaca, NY) with a degree in Applied Economics and Management, then working in New Zealand, Australia and Minneapolis, he earned his MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. For the past 19 years, he has been an active investor and property manager in Costa Rica. He has two teenagers that keep him busy!
Abigail Vargas
Abigail Vargas brings over 8 years of short-term rental/vacation rental experience to Up North Property Management. She oversees and establishes all operational processes for Up North Property Management and is General Manager of Osa Property Management (Costa Rica) where she established world-class processes for running a property management company.
She is a mother of three wonderful children and enjoys traveling to Minnesota throughout the year (as a native Costa Rican she definitely prefers the summers in Minnesota compared to the winters).
Amy Wilson
With over 21 years of experience in the insurance industry, Amy Wilson is a seasoned professional who owns and operates her own agency. Throughout her career, Amy has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to providing exceptional service and tailored insurance solutions to her clients.
Outside of her professional life, Amy is a mother to three wonderful children. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially engaging in outdoor activities. Whether it’s fishing, hunting, biking, or simply exploring the great outdoors, Amy finds joy and relaxation in nature.
In addition to her work in insurance, Amy is driven and excited about her involvement in property management. She finds great satisfaction in overseeing properties and ensuring they are well-maintained and meet the needs of their occupants. Her enthusiasm for property management is fueled by her desire to create safe, comfortable, and welcoming environments for all residents.
Amy’s passion for both her work and her personal interests makes her a well-rounded individual who brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to everything she does.
Amy takes immense pride in being a part of a small, close-knit community. She values the strong relationships she has built with her clients and neighbors over the years. Being part of a community where everyone knows and supports each other is something Amy cherishes deeply.
